Armillaria
The photo shows a cluster of mushrooms growing on the forest floor in Seattle. From the appearance of the caps and their clustered nature, these could be a species of Armillaria (commonly known as Honey Mushrooms) or Hypholoma fasciculare (Sulphur Tuft), but exact identification is challenging without additional information such as spore prints or close-up views of the gills. These types of mushrooms typically grow on decaying wood or tree stumps in wooded areas, and some varieties can be poisonous. It's best to consult a local mycologist or use a mushroom identification guide specific to the Pacific Northwest for precise identification.
